Overview

Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center in Crystal Lake, IL is seeking a CRNA to join our award-winning, fully integrated health care delivery system. The anesthesiology team consists of 2 anesthesiologists, 3 CRNAs, and a host of Anesthesia Techs, OR/Surgical Techs, and RNs, and other support personnel.  Enjoy the benefits of a highly skilled support staff, pain center, and much more. 

Basic Practice Details:

Four operating rooms capable of supporting all service lines. Four-bay PACU recovery rooms and 16 pre/post rooms. Serving pediatric to geriatric patient populations.

Service lines include:

  • Vascular (diagnostic and interventional for peripheral vascular diseases, Carotid endarterectomy, AAA)
  • General Surgery (minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, open abdominal surgery, soft tissue/mass excision, etc.)
  • Urology (cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, bladder surgery, transurethral resection of bladder or prostate, kidney and ureteral stone removal pulverization/removal, testicular surgery)
  • Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) to the list of services, i.e., tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, sinus surgery, ear tube insertion, septoplasty, thyroid and parathyroid.
  • Ortho (sports medicine procedures – arthroscopy, ACL’s, microfractures etc., orthopedic trauma – ORIF’s, closed reduction, minor ortho procedures – carpal tunnel, trigger finger)
  • Ophthalmology (cataract extraction, eye muscle surgery, corneal transplants, blepharoplasty)
  • Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy) –endoscopies performed daily.
  • Pulmonology (bronchoscopies)
  • Podiatry (bunionectomy, Achilles tendon repair, metatarsal surgery, plantar fasciitis)
  • .0 FTE position; hours fall within M-F, 7am-4pm
  • NO call required
  • Team Composition: 3 CRNAs, 4 MDs/DOs, and OR Anesthesia Techs

Licensure, Certifications, and other Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited CRNA program
  • Current, or eligible for, IL APNP license
  • Current, or eligible for, DEA licensure
  • Current CPR, ACLS, NALS and PALS certifications
  • Ability to pass Illinois Health Care Worker's Background Check.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional anesthesia services to the defined patient population and assure continuity of care for those patients.
  • As may be reasonably required by Mercy, work with the Medical Director to provide input into budgets, capital expenditures, strategic planning and marketing, to the extent that such duties do not interfere with your performance of the first duty described above.
  • As may be reasonably required by Mercy, assist in recruitment of additional CRNA's to the area, to the extent that such duties do not interfere with your performance of the first duty described above.
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably required by Mercy to the extent that such duties do not interfere with your performance of the first duty described above and with the purpose of your employment under this Agreement.

Education and Experience

As required by contract


Certification and Licensure

Current, or eligible for, WI and/or IL RN license
Graduate of an accredited CRNA program
Current, or eligible for, WI and/or IL APNP license
DEA, or eligible for, licensure
Current CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications
Ability to pass the Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and/or Illinois Health Care Worker's Background Check.

Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).

Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.
